The Skippers dominated the Arapahoe Ridge CX Race

Saturday saw the Mudskippers line up for their first full ACA team race of the season. Waking up to significant snow, evryone knew they were in for a cold 30 minutes. The technical course was tricky enough without snow (and the resulting mud from melting), but all the 'skippers soldiered through it.

This week all the juniors lined up together with our littlest riders next to kids nearly twice their size. This didn't phase them as everyone tore up the paved starting stretch into a 180 degree turn over a curb.

Once the race seperated out, there were 'skippers all over the place, with everyone dragging lots of snow around on them and their bikes. Our little ones figured out before anyone else that the sand pit was faster to run, and it was only after a few laps the older kids chose to do so. Good job!

When it was all said and done, the Mudskippers came away with lots of medals and top ten placings. 1st and 2nd in the Under-10s, 2nd and 3rd and 4th in the 10-12, and 4th in the highly competitive 13-14 age group. We also had the only female racer brave enough to take on the cold snowy course! Way to go Chelsea! (Laurel came out to cheer even after receiving stitches from an accident in training and helped take pictures during the race).

All the kids were excited to get after race food and hats from our latest sponsor, CLIFBar.
