The final Red Rocks CX race saw juniors lining up in single digit cold with almost 6" of snow in places around the course. With parents shivering in their parkas, the littlest racers of the day took off stamping the snow down for the senior races. Given the conditions, it was awesome to see almost the entire Mudskippers team start the race, easily making up half of the junior's field.

With most of the field suffering in the cold, slow conditions, 'skipper Joe put on a clinic of snow-riding skills and tore the 10-12 field apart. Joe was not far off the older racers, taking 4th overall in the juniors field. With Joe tearing things up at the front, the rest of the 'skippers soldiered on, regardless of conditions. Few racers managed to make it through the race without crashing somewhere with difficult downhill and off-camber sections

.

As it was the end of the series (and the penultimate race of the
season) there were Red Rocks Series podiums. The 'skippers swept the Under-10 podium with Laurel, Liam, and Cormac displaying their 'skipper pride. Joe got the team on the 10-12 podium, and Rhys stood tall on the 13-14 year old stand. Given that the last two Red Rocks races were both held in cold snowy conditions, the team rode great and showed everyone the depth of strength on the team. Next stop:
the state championships!
