Some evenings are just fabulous. Tonight was one of those lovely, perfect evenings! My friend, Amanda, had asked me to take some couple portraits of her and her sweetie, Keith. We set up the session, at one of her favorite places, Grace Estates Vineyard in Crozet, Virginia. If you never visited Grace when the mansion was open to the public, you definitely missed one of the most beautiful views the Blue Ridge Mountains have to offer. Now, only a lucky few get to experience it when they attend events on the property.
Shortly after setting our session date, Keith contacted me to let me know it might be a little bit more than just couple images – he was going to pop the question!
(I had to come back and write more because it was just so sweet!!!)
So, after going through a list of their favorite things, we decided that they loved vinyl and local beer. It seemed that a picnic was in order! We wandered around the amazing Grace Estate’s property and took some portraits and then made our way up to the veranda for the picnic. We listened to records and toasted and hung out then it was time!
We had all wanted to see Amanda twirl in that amazing tulle skirt so they popped up to share a dance. After the dance was over, Keith dropped to one knee with the ring in his hand and asked Amanda to marry him. There may have been a few tears of joy but I am not going to mention it here (hehe)
The ring featuring jaw dropping sapphires and diamond accents, by Brilliant Earth, is spectacular, ethically sourced and conflict free! It really doesn’t get any better than that!
I am so glad that I was part of this lovely surprise and know that they are going to have a long and happy life together!
