Nicole & Cole’s Ash Lawn Wedding || Burgundy/Blush pink || Romantic, Semi Formal, Casual, Rustic, Fun || Fall 2017

I have died everyday, waiting for you
Darling, don’t be afraid, I have loved you for a thousand years
I’ll love you for a thousand more
And all along I believed, I would find you
Time has brought your heart to me, I have loved you for a thousand years
I’ll love you for a thousand more

Nicole & Cole,

I wanted to write out every little adage about rain that has ever been posted on Pinterest.

“Into every life a little rain must fall”
“Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass…It’s about learning to dance in the rain.”
“You can’t have a rainbow without a little rain”
“A wet knot is harder to untie”
“Kiss me in the rain”

But let’s all be honest, after the 3rd hour of pass the umbrella, we were all pretty happy to see the rain take break! But, you know what, all the rain in the world couldn’t stop the magic of your wedding day. In fact, as I look through your day, there is a quiet intimacy to all your moments, like the rain enclosed us all up in its own little world, allowing no outside distractions. No phones, either, because, no one could get them out!

Even the worst of the weather could not tarnish the joy on your face, Nicole, during your first look with you dad, and maybe it even helped to hide those tears in his eyes when he saw you!

And, not the most epic deluge could dull the glowing look of love and anticipation on Cole’s face as he waited for you to walk down the aisle. (He even whispered “It is taking so long”)

And, then time just sort of stood still, everyone snuggled a little bit closer, as the two of you said your vows. No sounds of traffic, no outdoor noise at all.

And then, the rain subsided at just the right moment and let us have the pockets of time we had all secretly-and not so secretly-held our breaths for. As you and Cole, snuggled under that umbrella, no one could come into your own little bubble, no one could distract you and everyone was happy to head over to cocktail hour anyway!

Then, we shook off that cold and the party began! And what a party it was! From the first dance to Kyrsten’s funny and then touching serenade, it was so clear how much you mean to your family and friends. And, I can see why. You are both such gentle, loving, thoughtful and kind people. You are exactly the pair I would want to see if I was in an emergency or health crisis.

Thank you so much for inviting us into your little world and making us feel like part of your inner circle for the day. It was such an honor to meet you and get to know you both, together and as a couple. After watching you weather your wedding day (I had to get one in there!) like champs, I know that you could take anything on that the world throws at you with grace and kindness. I hope that blessings rain down on you (doh! another one) for all of your days.
