A wet knot never comes undone
Southern folklore says that if you bury a bottle of bourbon at the site where the bride and groom are to be married it won’t rain on their wedding day. According to tradition, it should be done exactly one month before the wedding. Well, we had a bottle of tequila and we had one day before the ceremony, but hey, tequila always gets to work fast right? Well, it did not fail us!!!
Despite the gloomy forecast, Caitlin and Jeff were granted their fondest wedding day wish: the rain subsided just long enough for their ceremony to be held outside. And, the Blue Ridge mountains even made a guest appearance which delighted Caitlin — Heck, it delighted us all.
Her guests joyfully snuggled up under umbrellas and I was so overjoyed that Caitlin & Jeff were able to have their beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony, even if we did have a little bit of rain!
After a fabulous meal by Roadside Chive, excellent speeches and even a serenade, the barn filled with a warm, rosy glow and the dancing and celebrating continued into the night.
And, remember that bottle of tequila? Later that night, we dug it back up again and shared a toast to the beautiful day!
