Claire found this little patch of purple crocuses and we set off one chilly day to find them. But, when we found them they were all closed up and sad from the cold and the approaching evening. So, we did the next best thing and chased spring. Yep, straight to one of my favorite greenhouses! In fact, we bought dozens of trees for our yard at this very spot! I highly recommend it!
Photographing in greenhouse was a delight. The soft light, the beautiful plants, the romantic accents…. All coupled with Claire’s beautiful flowing gown and straight-out-of-Jane-Austen scarf.
(If you are curious, I did a little research and the process where plants close up at night is called Nyctinasty. Scientists know how plants close up but, while they have lots of theories, no one knows exactly WHY plants do it. )
